A company favourite is the BBQ Mother Sauce, Version 2 Recipe. It uses a Memphis-Style BBQ rub that we have also shared in our blog as a main seasoning component.
1/4 cup peanut or canola oil
1/4 cup finely diced sweet or yellow onion
2 tablespoons minced garlic
11/2 cups ketchup
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1/2 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons dry mustard
1 teaspoon cayenne
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2 cup basic "Memphis-Style" BBQ Rub, or more to taste
1 cup water, as needed for the desired consistency
